Pi in the Sky By: Wendy Mass

Pi in the Sky
By: Wendy Mass

The Adair County Public Library is doing a Summer Reading Program. This year it is outer space theme, so they had an outer space display with a bunch of space books. I grabbed Pi in the Sky because it was fiction, (I love fiction), and it seemed interesting. It was a really good book.

Pi in the Sky is about a place called The Realms. Joss lives in The Realms. He is the seventh son of the Supreme Overlord of the Universe. Joss does not think he is very important. He just delivers pies. The Powers that Be are very important; they help create planets and solar systems. Also, when someone that does not live in The Realms catches a glimpse of The Realms their planet is destroyed. When someone on Earth sees a glimpse of The Realms, Earth is pulled out of time. One of Joss’s friends is Kal, whose parents are working for The Realms on Earth. When Kal disappears and a human girl takes his place, Joss figures out that Kal is stuck in a collapsing universe, and Annika, the human girl, is stuck with him.  Joss, then, does everything he can to get Earth (and Kal and Kal’s parents) back.

If you usually like fantasy stories, this book would be great for you. You could also read  some other books by Wendy Mass, including: The Candymakers, Every Soul a Star, Heaven Looks a Lot Like the Mall, Leap Day, and more.

This book is for fourth-sixth graders.

I give this book 5 out of 5 bookworms. Bookworm
