Olivia Bean, Trivia Queen
By: Donna Gephart
I loved this book. When I was reading it I was hooked. Also, Donna Gephart will be at the 2019 Truman State University Literature Festival. I am excited to see her there.
This book is about a twelve year old girl named Olivia Bean. She loves trivia and has watched Jeopardy every night ever since she was little. She even usually beats one or two of the adult contestants. The problem is it has been hard for her to focus on things like trivia ever since her parents divorced. Olivia can’t stop thinking about her dad who now lives all the way in California. But when Olivia finds her last chance to follow her dream and get on Jeopardy can she focus enough to pass the test AND ace auditions?
My favorite character is definitely Olivia because she is super smart, faces her fears, and, well, I can’t tell you because that would spoil the story. Charlie, her 5 year old little brother, is also pretty cool. He is hilarious, he is always saying weird, but interesting facts. Things like “cockroaches can live for a week without their head.”
This book is for grades third-fifth.
I give this book 5 out of 5 bookworms.
