The Mighty Miss Malone By Christopher Paul Curtis

The Mighty Miss Malone
By: Christopher Paul Curtis

I enjoyed this book a lot when I was reading it. It was amazing. This book is historical fiction. I didn’t know very much about The Great Depression and know I know a lot more.

The Mighty Miss Malone is about an African-American girl, Deza, living through The Great Depression. Her teacher is the best teacher in the world, and she always gets the highest grade. She loves her mom and dad. And her brother doesn’t get very good grades and steals. One day everything changes. Her dad goes on a fishing trip and doesn’t come back. Her mom is really sad, and they are making less money, so they are getting behind on the rent of the house. Soon they have to sell the house and move.

My favorite character is either Deza or Clarice. Since I have already talked about Deza I will talk about Clarice. Clarice is Deza’s best friend and the second smartest kid in the class. When Deza moves she is very sad to leave her best friend.

This book is for fourth-sixth graders,

I give this book 4 out of 5 bookworms.   Bookworm
