Sarah, Plain and Tall By Patricia MacLachlan

Sarah, Plain and Tall
Patricia MacLachlan

This book is “a classic.” I found it really interesting. It only took me two days to finish it. I couldn’t put it down!

Sarah, Plain and Tall is about two kids named Anna and Caleb. Their mom died right after Caleb was born. Papa puts an ad in the newspaper asking for a new wife. When he gets an answer it is from a woman named Sarah. She writes, “I will come by train. I will wear a yellow bonnet. I am plain and tall.”

My favorite character is obviously Sarah. She talks about the sea a lot, she draws, and she loves animals. She plays with the sheep and chickens.

This is for third-fifth graders.

I give this book 5 out of 5 bookworms.   Bookworm
