The Stars Beneath Our Feet By David Barclay Moore

The Stars Beneath Our Feet
By: David Barclay Moore

This book was really good when I read it. I read this right after I moved, so I was so busy moving I hadn’t had the chance to read in a while.

The Stars Beneath Our Feet is about a boy named Lolly. His brother died, and now two thugs are following him around. With Jermaine dying and the thugs following him around Lolly feels really sad. He is overwhelmed and almost always sad and depressed.  The only thing that lets him escape from his sadness is building legos. He starts making a castle in his apartment, but it gets too big and he has to tear it down. Then, he starts building in the after school program’s storage room. He creates a city and makes an unlikely friend.

My favorite character is Rose. She never talks, but one day she just walks into the room where Lolly does his legos and just starts building. Soon Rose becomes Lolly’s friend and they do stuff together.

This book is for fourth-sixth graders.
