Dork Diaries: Tales From a Not-So-Happy Birthday

I really like the Dork Diaries series. This is number 13 in the series, and it is REALLY good! I always wonder in a series if I need to start on number one or if I can just read the book. In this series you could probably just read the book. There might be a character or something going on that you don’t know about, but it should be fine.

Dork Diaries: Tales From a Not-So-Happy Birthday is about a middle school girl named Nikki. It will be her birthday soon, and she is planning a huge party. She’s starting to worry, though. What if her frenemy ruins it? What if they can’t pay for everything they need? Her BFFs,Chloe and Zoey, convince her that the party will be awesome. When she goes to her mom with her party idea and the cost, her mom makes a completely new plan that is under $100. Nikki thinks it is a terrible idea. What is she going to do?

I can’t choose a favorite character, so I will just tell you about one. One of my favorite characters is Brianna, Nikki’s little sister. Brianna is always getting in trouble, like learning if Nikki’s phone will float in the toilet or exploding the toaster by making sardine toast. Brianna is hilarious.

This book is for third-sixth graders.
