I Am Malala
By: Malala Yousafzai
This book is about Malala when she was a kid. Malala’s dad owned a school, and Malala and her friends went there. They were in the separate girls’ school though. Later, some people called the Taliban said that girls should not get an education and started to threaten other people. Malala stood up for girls’ education. It was hard though. Bombs kept going off in their town, and people were threatening her.
My favorite character is Malala. She stood up for girls education even when people were threatening her. She was incredible. She was still a child when she gave her speeches too. She was very brave.
This book is for fourth-sixth graders. It may be good to read with parents to talk about the issues it brings up.
I give this book 3 ⅞ bookworms out of 5 bookworms.
